Cold White Wine on a Beach in Santa Monica

Cold White Wine on a Beach in Santa Monica

We had a bag of hot French fries and a cold bottle of Spanish white wine.

Enough summer had passed that our skin was tan and the ocean was cold, but not shocking.

Seagulls screeched, and voices cut in and out through the air over the crashing waves.

Fifty yards away two kites sailed like drones making each other laugh.

A perfect summer day holds the same base perfection of every other summer day deemed to be that way. But this one, Hung just a little bit higher.

*Note to self: Remember to drink more whites wines from Spain and La Mancha

Los Conejos Malditos: Blanco

Grape: Airen (a workhorse varietal) and Malvar (aromatic with nice acidity).

Aged: 6 months on the lees (gives a succulent plushy mouth feel and stems (herbaceous complexity).
